On December 02nd, the CEO of Opuspac, Victor Basso, received the award for one of the 100 most influential people in healthcare in Brazil from Grupo Mídia, in the Entrepreneur category. The following is the article, published in Health Management magazine, issue 101.
Throughout nearly two decades at the helm of Opuspac, Victor Eduardo Basso has built a career marked by innovation and a continuous pursuit of efficiency in hospital automation and logistics.
An engineer and specialist in Quality and Patient Safety, he leads the largest hospital automation company in Latin America, with a presence in 29 countries and solutions implemented in more than 1.100 hospitals.
In recent years, it has focused its efforts on expanding its reach and improving its business models. The company is growing in both domestic and international markets, and one of the highlights of this growth is the launch of the CORINA line of robotic machines, developed with inspiration from the Japanese market. This line increases productivity, offering greater efficiency compared to previous versions at a reduced price, thus consolidating Opuspac position as a global benchmark in hospital automation.
The company’s international performance earned it the APEX Brasil Export Award, granted by the Federal Government, and reinforced Victor Basso’s strategy of maintaining a “fluid connection with the market,” as he defines it—always based on adding value with seriousness and a focus on the client. This principle also guides his vision of leadership: in a scenario where artificial intelligence occupies the center of discussions, he warns of the need to balance innovation with solid fundamentals of management and financial sustainability.
In his last book, published in 2025, he wrote about Healthcare Mindset, addressing the exponential growth of complexity in the sector. “We are facing a significant increase in the level of investment required, and many institutions are just surviving. This tends to create a gap between leading groups and the rest, in terms of service quality,” he analyzes.
For him, the future of the sector will necessarily depend on efficiency, driven by tools such as RPA, artificial intelligence, and a culture of efficiency. Lean Healthcare and new business models. This vision is also reflected in its work in Opuspac University, an open and free educational initiative that has already produced more than 100 technical articles, 120 videos, 12 books, online courses, and has more than 4 registered users. It has consolidated educational partnerships with SENAC-SP, SINDHOSP-SP, CBEXS, ABECLIN, FMC – Faculty of Medicine of Campos (Rio de Janeiro), and the School of Clinical Engineering.
“We are engineers and we always adopt a technical and rigorous approach,” summarizes Victor Basso. “Our purpose is to contribute with knowledge and offer a business perspective to the healthcare sector, constantly learning from experiences in Brazil and the countries where we operate. Our mission is to add value to the sector in which we operate, and Opuspac University is a proof of it.”
